Canon 5D MK III: Three years old, still the pro's favorite

Have a Canon 5D MKIII you want to sell?

It might not have made the huge noise the Mk II made when it was launched, but the Canon EOS 5D Mark III is probably the most loved camera in the company's current lineup.

It's more than three years old but it still hasn't been replaced yet. Those of you who think the 5Ds is the replacement are mistaking. The 5Ds is a very different camera that targets very different needs, but that's another story.

The 5D III is the workhorse of most professional photographers using the Canon system. It's definitely not top of the line and it has serious limitations when you compare it to the 1Dx, but it's a camera that is good enough for 98% of professional needs.
It's loved by photographers who shoot commercial, weddings, portraits, fashion, landscapes and it's probably going to be around for at least another couple of years.
It brought significant improvements over the Mk II, turning the 5D series into a more versatile choice. The 61 AF points vs. 11 have made it a good option for outdoor fat action and they've also made life easier for event photographers.

Everything else that was loved on the previous model was improved on the Mk III.
It's faster, more responsive yet very familiar to anyone making the upgrade. The image quality is superb and the dynamic range and tonality were taken to the next level.
Videographers and filmmakers also love the quality this camera produces and the full-manual control.
Overall, it's a great DSLR to move to from a 7D or a 5D MKII and it's still a great buy if you find it for the right price.
You can get a new one for about $2,500, but a good condition use one will cost you just under $2k.
